Forget the 'serious design flaw' mentioned in a previous review. Just MOVE YOUR HAND and you'll reach it with no problem.

The design?
As usual with Dyson, is superb and simple. Everything is made to come apart easily for cleaning, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put it back together. The diagrams in the handbook are clear and concise, with no extraneous blurb to pad things out.

The cable length 'issue'?
I found 6 Metres to be enough to work with and not too long to get tangled up around furniture. Most houses these days have multiple wall sockets for the new fangled electricity, so moving a plug from one to the other is hardly the end of the World. You just don't need miles of cable any more.

The performance? Well, what do you expect me to say? Dyson always delivers, and this vacuum is no exception to the rule.

Is it cheap?
No, but you knew that already. Dyson stuff will never be cheap because what you are buying is not 'just another hoover' but a superbly designed piece of work that looks cool, and will continue to look cool long after other machines are dust.
There's also the matter of the five year guarantee, which says a lot about Dyson's confidence in it's products.

I might add that I've just bought the AM01 fan. Nope, not cheap either, but it's the design that makes Dyson stand out from the crowd, and will continue to do so for as long as they remain innovators in their field.
The carpets were left looking a shade brighter (daft it sounds I know) but it really does get deep down clean.

Easy to use the different attachments (tools) and they are well made.

I even hoovered the walls to get rid of cobwebs/dust and even the thick dust off the tops of cupboards. A multi purpose cleaner that cleans everything in its path, even down to the sugar I spilt on the carpet.

Great for lampshades and other furnishings that need a freshen up.

Dyson DC25 Animal Lightweight

Fantastic item, Have had a DC04 for 8 years but still works fine and was now showing signs of wear, because of the experience with Dyson before we did'nt look at anything other than Dyson for a replacement. The new DC25 is even better, lighter, easier to use than the last. The price on Amazon is hard to beat and the service and delivery time was fantastic.
Can't believe how good the DC25 Animal is.
Carpets with dog hairs have come up like new when other Vacs wouldn't make any difference. It is easy to put together and easy to maintain. No bags or belts just two filters to keep clean.
It is the best vacuum cleaner I have had.
Superb! I am so full of praise for the Dyson DC25 animal cleaner. It does exactly what it says. It is so efficient I have to empty the container almost every time I use it. My carpets have never looked so clean. It is very strong and well-made, and moves around the furniture with ease. It is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned, in 60 years! In fact, because I was so impressed, I purchased one for my son, who is equally impressed. Amazon and Dyson -- what a fantastic combination!

I have been a little skeptical of the Dyson machines. I haven't doubted whether they worked as great as they say, but they are a little on the pricey side, initially. However, there is nothing more to buy unless you want additional attachments. The filters in this machine are washable, and do not need to be replaced. There aren't any bags to replace. The ball makes it easy to manipulate and handle, and is extremely lightweight. The handle that folds down for storage is also the telescoping wand to be used with attachments. There is a handle on the front of the clear bin in order to carry, making it easy to move around the room cleaning your fan blades, or geting the inevitable spider webs that grow in the corner of the rooms. When using the telescoping wand, there is an impressive amount of suction. It's cleaning power is wonderful to be such a small machine. It's shocking to see what comes out of your carpets. Most manufacturers will only carry a 1 year parts and labor warranty on their machines. Dyson has a 5 year warranty on their vacuums. I love this machine.
